Cookie Policy

What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store and send back on later visits. Cookies cannot run programs or read files from your device. They are used to remember state between page loads — such as what is in your shopping cart — and, where enabled, to measure how the site is used.
We distinguish between first-party cookies, set by ExtraBrake itself, and third-party cookies set by advertising or analytics providers. We also distinguish session cookies, which are discarded when you close your browser, from persistent cookies, which remain for a defined period.
What cookies we use
Strictly necessary
- cart — remembers the tires in your shopping cart (30 days).
- admsess — staff login session (admin area only).
- pe_* — prevents duplicate order-tracking events after a purchase.
These are required for the shop to function and cannot be switched off.
Analytics & advertising (optional)
Where enabled, we use the following third-party tags to measure traffic and our advertising campaigns:
- Google Analytics / Google Ads (Google LLC) — traffic measurement and ad conversion tracking.
- Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms, Inc.) — ad conversion tracking for Facebook/Instagram campaigns.
- Microsoft Advertising UET (Microsoft Corp.) — ad conversion tracking for Bing campaigns.
How to control cookies
- Browser settings: block or delete cookies for this site at any time.
- Google: adssettings.google.com and the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
- Meta: facebook.com/adpreferences.
- Microsoft: account.microsoft.com/privacy/ad-settings.
- Industry opt-outs: optout.aboutads.info.
Effect of disabling cookies
Blocking the strictly necessary cookies listed above will prevent the shop from working correctly — in particular, your cart will not persist between pages, so you will not be able to complete an order. Blocking analytics and advertising cookies has no effect on your ability to browse or buy; it only limits the measurement data we receive.
Changes to this policy
We update this page whenever the cookies we use change. The date shown at the top reflects the most recent revision. More detail on how we handle personal data, including the legal basis for processing and your rights, is set out in our Privacy Policy; the terms governing use of the site are in our Terms & Conditions.
